What is Modek?
Modek Media is a Brisbane-based production and post-production studio specialising in sound, technical consultancy, marketing, graphic design and digital media. We offer a creative edge, embracing the concept of serious but fun, crossing between both the corporate and creative worlds. We've worked on projects for ABC, SBS, Stan, Channel 7, Channel 9, Channel 10, Discovery Channel, Amazon Prime and more.
Our Founders
Mel Bertram
Director
Mel is a hardworking, reliable and dedicated individual with a passion for all things creative. Starting out as a bachelor qualified audio engineer, Mel has immersed herself in the industry, developing and strengthening her skills to become a multifaceted creative professional.
She aspires to tell stories through the creation of sound that can be experienced, rather than simply heard. Mel has collaborated with the likes of; established Brisbane rock band 'The Glycereens', YouTube gaming channel 'Wicked Gaming', and 'Girl Shaped Flames', a National training and development program for young girls of Australia, to help give their stories life.
Mel is endlessly curious, constantly learning and seeking ways to explore and improve. She is conscientious; taking commitments seriously and delivering with integrity. While tenacity is at the core of her drive, Mel approaches projects with both humility and passion.
Chris Terry
Director
Chris Terry is a contemporary session musician, creative producer, and multi-instrumentalist - drums, percussion, guitar, vocals, - based in Brisbane, Australia (Turrbal/Jagera land). She has performed at numerous festivals around Australia, including Splendour In The Grass and Falls Music & Arts Festival.
In 2015, she co-founded Vincent & Jules with her wife, Amanda Terry, a non-for-profit creative start-up focussed on design, photography and event curation for South East Queensland Artists. Chris has curated events for dozens of artists, encompassing single launches, EP and album launches, mixed media and interdisciplinary performances, South East Queensland and Northern NSW tours, fundraisers and charity shows.
Since joining Modek in April 2021, Chris has worked as a production sound mixer and foley artist on long-form documentaries, music videos, short-form documentary series, and short films; developed logos and creative design assets for a range of businesses; worked as a producer on web series' and short films; and assisted with post production audio work, foley and sound design, and dialogue editing.
